My '59

When I went to look at this car, I was appalled to see that most of the trim had been painted black or red.

Painted trim Look, black eyeliner! Why? Even so, the beauty shines through Such a shame!

Going for the Mustang look? Functional interior
After removing much of the trip and getting to work on removing the paint, I discovered that much of it had been sanded, bondo'd, and/or fiber glassed to hide the dents.  It made for many extra hours of scraping and wiping.

It took a lot of work to get this much paint removed! I haven't gotten to the side trim yet. When she came home... With her new tail light bezels.  Yes, I did get the other set of tail light trim.
The side rails and grill are the only two parts that I haven't been able to get to yet.  The grill has loose rusted bolts holding it on that I will have to cut and the side rails will be a major project to get off and back on.

These parts may just have to wait until I start to get it ready to be repainted.

Yes, there's rust that I still need to take care of. Photo-0204.jpg (265912 bytes)
